About Us

Based in Vienna, Austria, the members of our ensemble have performed around the world. We specialize in narrated concerts with slides, highlighting parallels between music and painting.  We provide innovative event-oriented programmes.

John Moffatt, Viola & Narrator
 

From Montreal,  Canada, and a graduate of McGill University, John has 

been a member of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra for many years.  As an extra, he also performed regularly with the Vienna Philharmonic.  He has narrated concerts in English, French and German in the U.S., Canada, Austria and India.

Erich Haderer, Violin
 

Born in Upper Austria, Erich studied at the Vienna Music Academy with Günter Pichler of the Alban Berg Quartet. He has toured extensively around the world, primarily with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra.  In his spare time, he is an avid alpinist and film-maker.

Sabina Dascalu, Violine
 

Sabina Dascalu is a member of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Solists of Vienna Chamber Orchestra, playing regularly in Vienna and allver Europe, Asia, South America. She also works in Max Steiner Orchestra and Synchron Stage Orchestra, both orchestras specialized in film music recordings. She performs regularly with the Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2015, Sabina hast taught at the “International Musikschule Wien” and “Studio Allegria”.

This year, Sabina started developing a special project, a fusion between Music & Paintings. She performs and records pieces for violin solo and inspired by the music, creates acrylic paintings for each recorded piece.
Born in Bucharest, Romania, Sabina Dascalu began her first violin lessons at the age of 6. She studied in Bucharest at ‘’G. Enescu’’ music high school as well as in Vienna, in the class of Prof. Christian Altenburger (violin), Prof. Johannes Meissl (chamber music). She became Magistra artium in 2015, after graduating with the highest distinction. In 2016 followed a postgraduate specialization in baroque violin with Prof. Hiro Kurosaki. She attended many masterclasses with members of Wiener Philharmoniker, Oslo String Quartet, Marianne Piketty, Jose Vazquez. Sabina Dascalu has been awarded numerous prizes at international violin competitions and scholarships including the Dr. Boesch Foundation.

Marianne Bruckner, Violoncello
 

A native of Vienna, Nanni graduated from the Vienna Musikgymnasium and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. As a chamber musician, she has performed around the world in numerous ensembles.
